Evan Schnurr, Clarinet

 

Young Musicians Competition Winner 2016

Evan is a student at Pennsbury High School, currently studying with Brian Adamczyk and Charly Salinger. He has been playing clarinet since age 10 and has been active in Marching Band, Jazz Band and Orchestra throughout High School. Additionally he has participated in PMEA District, Regional and State ensembles, as well as NAfME All-Eastern and All-National ensembles.

This past October he had the honor of sitting principal chair in the All-National orchestra under esteemed conductor, Jun-Ho Pak, which was a life-changing experience. Other musical honors include winning first prize in the Warminster Symphony Young Artists Competition in December 2014 and attending the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Clarinet Workshop in the summer of 2015. He plans to continue with music as a performance major in college and pursue an orchestral career. Outside of music, he is a member of the National Honor Society and enjoys writing, photography and exercise.
